Cardiac charity Heartbeat hosted its annual ‘Light up a Heart’ Christmas Carol Celebration on the Tuesday 10th December at St Michael and All Angels Church, Lyndhurst, raising a festive £962 to help cardiac patients and their families being treated at the Wessex Cardiac Unit at the University Hospital Southampton.
Spreading festive cheer with a touch of heartfelt reflection, this magical Christmas celebration offered more than just the joy of beloved carols and enchanting readings. Attendees came together to honour cherished memories of loved ones as they were invited to hang their personal dedication and memorials on a fabulous ‘alternative’ Christmas tree donated by stage set specialist Scenery Solutions of Eastleigh. The stunning tree became a centrepiece of love and remembrance, making the event as touching as it was festive.
Residents within the Lyndhurst and surrounding areas were invited to visit the church and hang their dedications and memorials on the tree from Wednesday 18th to Sunday 22nd December, during the Christmas tree festival.
Tanya Harder, Community Fundraising and Marketing Manager at Heartbeat, commented: “Our Light up a Heart event was extremely special. Even while we celebrated and got into the joyfulness of the season, we were remembering the loved ones who cannot be with us. After all, Life is a precious gift and one we should cherish whole heartedly.”
