In 2019 one of the members of Waltham Chase Motorcycle Trial Club had a heart attack at a Trial. Fellow members administered CPR until the paramedics arrived but unfortunately, it was too late. It was mentioned that if the Club had a Defibrillator, the situation may have had a better outcome. The Club decided to purchase their own and Wessex Heartbeat proudly presented them with it, on Saturday 13th November at Hut Hill Woods, Chandlers Ford.
Since being presented with the Defibrillator, the Club has decided to purchase another one to be housed in a weatherproof box as a way of bringing the life saving equipment to the local community. Although Mike Wiseman, Chair of the Waltham Chase Motorcycle Trial Club, says he hopes this is one piece of equipment no one will ever need to use!
